Unsurprising: Dutch Release Video On How To Commit Suicide

Hard on the heels of mobile killing vans in the Netherlands comes a Dutch do-it-yourself film on how to kill yourself. The Netherlands is now completely bankrupt regarding basic human rights and safeguards.
Self-help film gives instructions on euthanasia
“When you are ready, put the bag over your head. Then slowly open the helium valve.” An instruction film made by Dutch psychiatrist Boudewijn Chabot explains how someone can kill themselves using a roasting bag and two tanks of helium. Self-help methods are becoming less of a taboo.
Euthanasia in the Netherlands
The Euthanasia Act came into force in the Netherlands on 1 April 2002. The number of requests has remained at more or less the same level for the last decade according to NIVEL, the Netherlands Institute for Health Services Research. In 2010, around four people in 10,000 submitted a euthanasia request to their doctor. The number of euthanasia registrations has increased and the issue has been raised more often with patients. The review committee recorded 3,136 registrations of euthanasia in 2010. In the past, pain was a major reason to end someone’s life but now dignity and a sense of purpose have increased in importance. more

Aussie Dr. Death's Evil Starts To Claim Victims In NZ

Aussie Dr. Death Philip Nitschke’s relentless barrage of “suicide workshops” and talks are beginning to bear deadly fruit. Here a NZ elderly couple used Nitschke’s favorite weapon, the “death mask,” to kill themselves. Nitschke has no conscience, in my ever so humble opinion.
Elderly pair's suicide pact
AN elderly Carlton Beach couple consulted euthanasia advocate Philip Nitschke in the months before they took their own lives in 2010.
A report by coroner Glenn Hay revealed that Gisela Buenger, 81, and her husband Hans Buenger, 83, were seated together in separate chairs in their loungeroom when found dead on October 5, 2010.
Both had plastic bags over their heads and died as a result of the combined effects of prescription drugs and asphyxia.
Their deaths came six months after euthanasia campaigner Philip Nitschke visited Hobart and as debate raged about a Dying with Dignity Bill in the Tasmanian Parliament. more

Suicide Kits Have Real-World Consequences

I've posted several times about the 91-year-old California granny selling suicide kits on the web. Here's a report of someone whose brother bought a kit and killed himslef.
Suicide kits rekindle debate on assisted suicide
The door to the room was locked, and there was no response as Jake Klonoski knocked, looking for his younger brother.
He picked the lock and made a grim discovery: his dead brother lying on the bed, his head covered in a plastic bag connected by a tube to a helium tank. He had gassed himself to death using a suicide kit he learned about online and ordered through the mail from a woman in California. more

Oregon Doesn't Like The Private Sector Getting Involved With Assisted Suicide

As I've posted several times, Oregon doesn't like the private sector muscling in on its business of killing people legally. The latest effort is to stop a 91-year-old woman in California from selling her suicide asphyxiation masks in the state. Of course, with all the publicity, the woman's business has picked up dramatically.
91-year-old stands by "exit kits" despite suicide furor
A 91-year-old California woman selling do-it-yourself asphyxiation kits for $60 apiece says business is booming since a depressed but otherwise healthy young man used her product to kill himself in Oregon.
Notoriety surrounding Sharlotte Hydorn's home-based mail order operation near San Diego and the December suicide of one of her customers, Nicholas Klonoski, 29, has also sparked a move in Oregon to outlaw sales of such devices. more

The Pro-Deathers Make Money From People Killing Themselves

Pro-deathers are big on telling us that they are compassionate and caring. However, as with Switzerland death clinic Dignitas, it's also big business. Here's an old lady who's making a tidy living at 91 selling death kits, the same death kits that Oregon is currently looking to outlaw.
91-Year-Old Woman Sells Suicide Kits
A 91-year-old woman from California is selling suicide kits, and making a tidy sum doing it. Sharlotte Hydorn is so busy putting her kits together that she hasn't had time to cash many of the checks coming in to her estimated $98,000 a year business. more
