New Georgia Anti-Assisted Suicide Law Progresses

Good – Georgia politicos are fashioning an anti-assisted suicide law that will replace the bad law previously in place.
Assisted Suicide Bill Moves Forward
A state House committee passed a bill Tuesday that would make it a felony to help someone commit suicide. The bill follows a recent Georgia Supreme Court decision that struck down an existing assisted suicide law.

Killing Newborns - Why Not?

Here’s the journal abstract of the piece calling for killing of newborns as a “post abortion abortion.” Frightening.
After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?
Abstract
Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus' health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled. more

Bioethicists: Killing Born Babies OK

The “bioethics” crowd become more and more depraved. Now they’re suggesting that killing babies after birth may be OK.
Infanticide: Why Not?
With the occasional exception of “bioethicists” such as Peter Singer, very few proponents of unlimited abortion are willing to explicitly say they support infanticide. They aren’t willing to concede that there is no emergency brake to their logic—that the same reasoning that takes dead bead on unborn babies can race pass the “birth barrier” to wipe out babies who have been born. more

Questions About The UK Falconer Report? Read this

Here’s an excellent set of questions and answers about the Falconer Report in the UK.
The Falconer Report
Earlier this year the Falconer Report recommended legalising assisted suicide. With the credibility of the Falconer 'Commission' process being widely called into question and a ComRes poll published in January by social policy charity CARE showing that nearly half the population is concerned that if the option of ending one's life was made legal, some people would feel pressured into killing themselves, Sarah J decided to speak with Dr Peter Saunders, Campaign Director for Care Not Killing to find out his thoughts on the report. more

The Dutch: Killing Is An Enlightened Idea

Ah, yes, the Dutch, so enlightened that they kill people in their hospitals.
Dutch are masters at control, expert says
From sex to drugs to death, few are as liberal-minded as the Dutch.Soft drug consumption in "coffee houses" and prostitution are perfectly legal, and the Netherlands has been a pioneer in permitting doctors to end the lives of their patients through euthanasia or assisted suicide. more

Canadians Looking To Dutch "Reasonableness" On Euthanasia

Canadians looking to the Netherlands as the definitive source of euthanasia reasonableness is like chickens asking the fox for advice on staying alive.
Euthanasia supporters, critics in Canada look to Dutch for evidence
Six "mobile euthanasia units" will become available in the Netherlands, starting March 1, to zip around this tiny and remarkably liberal country to help Dutch citizens facing an "unbearable" and "hopeless" medical situation die in their homes.
A group of prominent citizens, meanwhile, has been lobbying since 2009 for a major expansion in the scope of Dutch assisted-death laws, allowing older people who are "tired of living" but have no serious medical problem to end it all without the involvement of a physician.
To social conservatives around the world, including in Canada where court challenges in B.C. and Quebec seek to declare the euthanasia ban unconstitutional, these are but two of the many examples of a dangerous "slippery slope" for any country that opens the door even a crack on this touchy matter. more

France: Sarkozy Rival Changes Tune On Euthanasia

Hard on the heels of President Sarkozy saying he opposes euthanasia and would run on that platform in the next French election, his rival has had to back away from endorsing euthanasia for the French.
French socialist presidential candidate retreats under fire from pro-euthanasia
France’s socialist opposition candidate for the nation’s presidential elections in April seems to be backing off from his stated position in favor of legalizing euthanasia, after his opponents attacked his position.
On Saturday, Socialist and Radical Left Party candidate Francois Hollande gave an interview to the French magazine Marianne, claiming that he is now “not favorable” to the legalization of euthanasia. However, he added that he is “for the right to die with dignity.” more
