Aussie Dr. Death Encourages Pro-Death Stance For Politicians

Predictably, Aussie Dr. Death Philip Nitschke is pushing Aussie politicians to be the vanguards of “change” to legalize assisted suicide.
Nitschke urges open mind on euthanasia bill
Euthanasia advocate doctor Philip Nitschke is urging Tasmania's Upper House MPs to open their minds to what he calls progressive legislation.
Dr Nitschke says there are parallels between Tasmania's pending Dying with Dignity Bill and the same sex marriage legislation which was voted down in the Upper House last week.
Speaking after addressing an anaesthetists conference in Hobart, he said Tasmania had an opportunity to lead the country. more

Rich: Kill Your Kid And Then Blame Others For It

Making someone die of thirst and starvation is barbaric. Don’t buy the line spun here that there was no alternative (ergo, we must legalize assisted suicide). This mother chose to kill her son in this way, and she should therefore bear the responsibility of the horror that followed.
Joanne Dunn's euthanasia plea after son Mark Leigep wastes away
FOR 26 days, Joanne Dunn lived a nightmare beside her son in hospital, watching him starve to death.
It was her only legal choice, despite her son Mark Leigep being in an unresponsive and persistent vegetative state since suffering head injuries in a March 2006 car crash.
"If it happened in one day, with an injection, all of the family could have been there," she said.
"Instead, I had to watch him die and waste away for nearly four weeks." more

Aussie: Here's What Pro-Death Bias Looks Like

If you want to see how bias masquerades as a factual article, read this pro-death piece from Australia.
Voluntary Assisted Suicide legislation in NSW: politics vs human rights
During the current term of the NSW state government, the Greens plan to introduce the Rights of the Terminally Ill Bill, which, if passed, would legalise voluntary assisted suicide (VAS) in NSW.
This legislation is only for sound-minded people with an intolerable terminal illness, who request to be allowed to die, rather than suffer indignity and pain before inevitable death. This legislation allows them to take a prescribed lethal sedative, ideally at home with the support of family, and hence to die peacefully. more

Aussie: Dr. Death Runs Afoul Of Medical Board

Aussie Dr. Death is starting to take some serious heat in Australia as he continues to push the envelope for legalized death on demand.
Euthanasia campaigner faces another challenge
Voluntary euthanasia advocate Philip Nitschke says an investigation into his suitability to practise medicine is one of the most serious challenges he has faced in his career.
An inquiry into Dr Nitscke's application to import the euthanasia drug nembutal was launched by the Australian Medical Board last year.
He is now facing a second investigation, into his role in promoting and importing nitrogen cylinders that can be used for euthanasia, and his suitability to practise medicine. more

Aussie Dr. Death Keeps Pushing The Envelope

As I just said in the previous post – the pro-deathers are very persistent. Aussie Dr. death keeps pushing the envelope in Australia in his quest to bring death on demand to all.
Philip Nitschke says Exit International has seen a surge in demand for help to die peacefully
Euthanasia campaigner Dr Philip Nitschke says there has been a surge in demand for his organisation's $690 kits which allow a peaceful death by undetectable means.
KITS providing a fast and undetectable cause of death are being sold in Australia by euthanasia advocate Dr Philip Nitschke.
Dr Nitschke says the $690 kit allows for a peaceful death.
His voluntary euthanasia group, Exit International, has sold 50 of the kits and ordered another 100 - most of which have already been pre-ordered - at a cost of about $345.
He said there had been a surge in demand from people wanting the gas.
"If people really want an anonymous death, that is one that will never be detected, (this) is really your only option," he said. more

Aussie: Good Piece Opposing Political Involvement In Euthanasia Issues

Here’s a considered opinion on things pro-death from Australia.
Euthanasia Issue Too Complex & Important to be Decided by Politicians
Professor Scott Prasser, Executive Director of the Public Policy InstituteEuthanasia is a complex issue with far-reaching consequences to society and is far too important to be decided by a bill requiring just two days of parliamentary debate followed by a conscience vote, says Professor Scott Prasser, Executive Director of the Public Policy Institute at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). more
