Reaction in the UK to the newly appointed health minister’s
call for supporting assisted suicide has been swift – this erupted last last
week and already there are calls for her resignation.

Outspoken new Health Minister Anna Soubry faced a Tory call to resign after saying she backed changing the law on assisted suicide.
The former television presenter, who joined the Government in last week’s reshuffle, said it was ‘ridiculous and appalling’ that Britons had to ‘go abroad to end their life’.
Ms Soubry immediately came under attack from fellow Tories, with one warning that any attempt to change the law would be ‘fiercely’ opposed. more
