Canada: A More Than Weak Response To Margaret Somerville


Here's a not-so-eloquent response to Margaret Somerville's take on the current assisted suicide debate in Canada.
What the end-of-life report actually said
Margaret Somerville concludes her recent critique of the Royal Society of Canada’s Expert Panel Report on End of Life Decision Making (“Assisted-suicide panel failed to present balanced arguments,” Opinion, Dec. 8) by saying that “there is a wealth of grounds on which this report can be easily dismissed.” She does not provide readers with any of those grounds. Her reading of the arguments contained in the report calls for a response. more
