Here’s an Irish slant on the implications for the Irish if assisted suicide is legalized in Great Britain.

There was a time when even discussing euthanasia in my part of Kerry would have led the locals to wonder if you'd lost your marbles.
The idea of anyone or anything other than God himself taking human life away was unpalatable across Ireland.
But times and views appear to be changing and the prospect, though remote, of some form of 'assisted suicide' being introduced in the UK suddenly brings the issue to Ireland's doorstep.
Last week's findings of a commission chaired by Lord Falconer said that MPs should consider changing the law on assisted suicide to allow some terminally-ill people to end their lives at home with the help of their doctor. more
