India: No Help For Patient Requesting Euthanasia


The sad case of a 21 year-old Indian woman continues. She has requested euthanasia because she can't afford the treatment she needs. The government offered to pay for her treatment, but no help has been forthcoming.
Blood cancer patient awaits Centre's 'promised' monetary help
The brother of a 21-year-old woman, suffering from blood cancer and having a euthanasia plea in court, has alleged that the government has not kept its promise of providing monetary help for her treatment. "It has been 12 days since my sister Alka Tiwari reached Vellore in Tamil Nadu for her treatment yet she has not received the monetary help which was promised by the Centre," Brajesh, her brother, told PTI over phone. more
